Header Clearence problems?
I am converting a 66 mustang from a 6 cyl. to a 347 stroker motor, will i have problems with clearence of my Heddman shorty headers on the power steering side... I did buy the adjustable motor mounts to try and combat this potential problem.......Any suggestions would be greatly apprieciated... Thanks
Answer:
Since you are converting over from a 6 to an 8. I'm assuming you are upgrading the suspension which you should do and the 348 is a standard 289 302 block you should go with the shorty headers and the fit should be ok. If you use longer headers you might have a problem with ground clearance because there is not too much room under there.
Check with Mustang parts houses they probably sell conversion kits for 6 to V8. I added a link below.
